#ourfood challenge

Between 12 and 24 September, Chefs with Compassion is challenging celebrities, corporates, individuals, chefs, men, women and children to share a video of themselves holding a plate of food and, in their native tongue, saying:

"We are South African and this is OUR food!"

And to challenge your family, friends, colleagues, loved ones, and corporates, to do the same.

The price of sharing your heritage food with the world via Chefs with Compassion’s social media pages is the cost of feeding a hungry child – R10. That’s what it costs us to produce a meal out of rescued, surplus produce that would otherwise have gone to waste. Your donation of any amount in denominations of R10 will help us, through our network of waste warriors, chefs, drivers and volunteers, to continue our work of providing meals to the hungry.

step 1: cook

That recipe that's been in your family for generations...
That dish that reminds you of your family...
That yummy creation that shouts "This is OUR food"!

STEP 3: DONATE

Make a donation of any amount in denominations of R10.

Every R10 feeds someone who would otherwise go to bed hungry.
Please use your name + OurFood as the payment reference.

step 2: VIDEO or photo

Take a video or photo of yourself - alone or with your people - saying:
"I am South African and this is OUR food. I challenge {insert name of your choice} to take the #OurFood Challenge"

You can challenge anyone - a celebrity, a corporate, your community.

STEP 4: UPLOAD & CHALLENGE

Join the #OurFood Heritage Month event (http://bit.ly/FacebookOurFood), upload your video and challenge your community by sharing the post!

Remember to use these important tags:

And most importantly, tag yourself and the people you're challenging!
